Composition
Cutaneous solution for deposit:
IMIDACLOPRIDE: 100 ml
Butyl hydroxytoluène: 1 mg
Q.s.p excipient.: 1 ml
Properties
The imidaclopride, 1--(6-Chloro-3-pyridylmethyl N-nitro-imidazolidin-2-ylideniamine, is antiparasitic external one belonging to the family of chloronicotiniles. From the chemical point of view, it is more exactly about a chloronicotinyl nitroguanidine.
Pharmacological properties:
The substance possesses a strong affinity for the receivers nicotiniques of the acétylcholine of the region comment-synaptique of the central nervous system of insects. The inhibition of the transmission cholinergique leads to the paralysis and to the death of insects. Due to its low affinity for the receivers nicotiniques of the mammals and its low(weak) passage supposed through the hémato-meningeal barrier of these, the imidaclopride has no effect on the central nervous system of mammals. This is confirmed by the results obtained during the tries of harmlessness with systematic administration of sublétales doses in rabbits, rats, mouse.
Pharmacokinetic properties:
After topique application to the cat, the product is quickly distributed on all the body. The studies of acute(sharp) tolerance on the skin to the rat and the studies of overdose and blood kinetics to the target sort(species) demonstrated that the systematic absorption is very low(weak), passing and does not intervene in the efficiency. This is confirmed by a study which demonstrated that fleas(chips) do not die after ingestion of the blood of animals beforehand treated(handled) but among which the skin and the hair were cleaned by any track of active principle.
Indications
To cats, affections to parasites sensitive(perceptible) to the imidaclopride: treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas(chips).
The duration of protection against the new infestations is from 3 to 4 weeks. The medicine can be integrated(joined) into a therapeutic program of the D.A.P.P.
Administration
Local way extern(day pupil). Administer directly on the skin at the top of the neck of the animal.
The persons presenting a known cutaneous sensibility can be particularly sensitive(perceptible) to this product.
